Meet Our People

Akram J. Atallah


Akram joins Donuts from ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, where he served as the first president of ICANN’s Global Domains Division and oversaw the management of generic domain operations, domain name industry engagement and web services. Previously, Akram served as ICANN’s chief operating officer. Akram’s diversified technology experience runs the gamut from engineering to operations to product development and marketing. Before ICANN, he was chief operating officer at CoreObjects Software, an engineering services start-up. Prior to CoreObjects, he was general manager of the Broadband Access business unit at Conexant, and before that was the general manager of its Universal Access business. His accomplishments at Conexant included increasing business unit revenue to more than $800 million, improving profit margins, transforming the marketing and engineering functions, and strengthening its position as global market leader. Akram holds a master’s degree in business administration, a master’s in electrical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of Colorado at Denver. He is trilingual in English, Arabic, and French.

Randy Haas

EVP & Chief Financial Officer

Randy serves as Donuts’ EVP & Chief Financial Officer and has over 30 years of financial leadership experience largely in internet-based businesses and technology. He most recently served as CFO of Rhapsody/Napster where he led the company's strategy transformation, raised capital, and significantly improved profit. Prior to Napster, he had a long career at Microsoft, including serving as General Manager/CFO of the Internet Advertising Business Group with over $4B of revenue. He also held senior leadership roles in Finance for the Sales and Marketing and internet platform areas. Randy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire.

Ram Mohan

Chief Strategy Officer

A seasoned executive with a strong strategy orientation, Ram works closely with the CEO, board members and executives to achieve Donuts’ long-term vision. Was COO and co-founder at Afilias, acquired by Donuts in 2020, where he launched the .INFO, .ORG and .IO Registries, building the world’s second largest domain name registry.

Previous positions include Co-Founder TurnTide (acquired by Symantec 2001); COO Infonautics (publicly traded Ed-Tech company). Board positions include Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace (GCSC) and ICANN (2008-2018), co- founded ICANN’s Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC).

He is an inventor on nineteen U.S. patents in Internet technology, recipient of InfoWorld's 'Premier 100 Technology Leaders' award, a CIO100 honoree and Guinness World Record holder (2018).

He completed his BS in Electrical Engineering and MBA in India before working on his MS at Drexel and post-graduate coursework at Harvard and INSEAD.

Kim Cannon

Chief People Officer

In her role as Chief People Officer, Kim acts as culture guardian, leads the People team, manages facilities and oversees Identity Digital’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Kim has a proven track record within public and private companies at various stages of growth and maturity, building and developing successful teams and healthy cultures. She is an influencer and coach with the determination, strength, and vulnerability to lead during challenging times and through complex situations. Prior to joining Identity Digital Kim held CPO and Sr. Leadership roles with notable companies in the Pacific Northwest including Microsoft, T-Mobile, Washington Mutual, TrueBlue and Holland America. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Marquette University. When she is not working, she enjoys time with her husband and grown children, baking, playing games or getting lost in a jigsaw puzzle.

Alvaro Alvarez

EVP, General Counsel and Secretary

Alvaro Alvarez provides Donuts legal counsel on its most important strategic and tactical initiatives. Alvaro has over twenty years of experience working with Internet-focused enterprises, including almost six years at Donuts, where he has helped to build its core businesses and expand its reach via acquisition, internal development, and investments in other technology companies. Prior to Donuts, Alvaro served as a senior International Business associate at Perkins Coie LLP, where he represented early-stage, private, and public companies, including domain industry companies. Alvaro received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. Alvaro has also studied law at the University of Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) and the University of Havana, Cuba and pursued coursework at the University of London (King’s College) and the London School of Economics. Alvaro is admitted to the State bars of Washington and California (inactive).

Mina Neuberg

Chief Marketing Officer

Mina is the Donuts' Chief Marketing Officer. Mina brings an expertise in consumer understanding, brand strategy and data-driven storytelling. Prior to Donuts, Mina was the Chief Marketing Officer at Revolution Math, a live online math enrichment program. She has also served as the VP of Marketing, Consumer Insights and Creative at BAMKO, a product development company and VP of Strategy at Bovitz, a market research firm. Mina holds an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA and also a BA from UCLA.

Pete Fox

Pete Fox

Chief Information Officer

Pete brings over 30 years of experience as a growth and turnaround leader, successfully transforming various domestic and international organizations. Most recently, as CIO, he helped transform CIBT into the largest and most well-established travel visa and passport company globally by spearheading the company’s immigration practice expansion and performing due diligence on over 60 successful acquisitions. Before CIBT, serving as Network Solutions’ SVP of engineering, product development and M&A, Pete led two major acquisitions and helped sell the company twice. He also held senior leadership positions at Lockheed Martin and General Electric. Pete’s extensive experience includes leading and developing large-scale distributed network applications, web-based applications, and global marketing and e-commerce products. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech.

Matt Overman

SVP, Sales

Matt leads sales efforts at Donuts. Before Donuts acquired Rightside, Matt led Rightside’s monetization and premium domain sales business. Matt previously served as General Manager of NameJet, establishing it as the premier auction marketplace in the domain name industry. He has also managed specialized sales efforts for five of the web’s top 10 registrars. Prior to joining Rightside, Matt held positions at Hotkeys and McCann Erickson in Seattle. Matt holds a B.A. from DePauw University.

Serina Ness

Vice President, Finance and Accounting

Serina Ness has over 20 years of extensive public and private accounting experience in diverse industries including ecommerce, multi-channel retail, and technology. Serina was formerly the Controller for and the Divisional Controller of Walgreens digital commerce business and served as a Senior Manager at the accounting firm of Grant Thornton LLP. Serina holds an undergraduate degree from Seattle University's Albers School of Business and Economics and earned her CPA while working at Grant Thornton.

Ben Levac

Vice President, Engineering

Ben brings to Donuts nearly 20 years of engineering experience in the domain industry. He joined Donuts when it acquired Rightside in July 2017. Before his five-year tenure at Rightside, Ben was a development manager at Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), and prior to CIRA, he was VP Engineering for Momentous.CA, the parent company of Internet brands that include /,,, Turkberry and others. Ben holds a B.Sc., Information Management Systems, from the University of Ottawa.

Dave McBreen

Vice President, Registrar

Dave’s 13-year tenure at started in the role of Software Engineer, when he developed the website along with many of the foundational components of the codebase. Since then, Dave has continued to increase his responsibilities and accomplishments for; 2018 marks his foray into general management. David holds a B.S. from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

John Sage

Vice President, IT Operations

John brings 17+ years of Technology and Operations experience serving in various IT management and engineering roles. He currently serves as VP of Information Technology and Data Operations overseeing several talented cross-functional teams of Developers and Engineers. John previously served as the Director of IT for eNom and Rightside and has also held various Engineering and Operations Management roles at Demand Media. John’s versatile management experience in corporate, operations, and engineering management continues to benefit him as he leads Information Technology Operations here at Donuts Inc. He holds a B.A. In Business Management from Northwest University.

Trang Nguyen

Vice President, Business Development

Trang currently serves as Donuts’ Vice President of Business Development, with overall responsibility for the company's vertical market strategy, including the .travel vertical. Prior to joining Donuts, Trang was with ICANN for eight and a half years. During her tenure, Trang held senior-level positions spanning operations, policy implementation, and strategy. Before joining ICANN, Trang held various senior positions at small companies and large technology corporations in the area of strategy and communications. Her work included overall responsibility for the definition and execution of go-to-market strategy for KPMG's southwest region; advising non-profit organizations and technology companies on communications and outreach strategies; developing brand strategy for a start-up as well as a global, publicly-traded, healthcare IT consulting firm, which was acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation; and launching a new digital product for a software company.
